ITAMAR ALCALAY

He has directed two documentary series: Dancing with Tears in My Eyes deals with the Israeli clubbing culture as an Anti-Zionist ethos movement, Off Season depicting the stories of five men who escaped into the deep desert of Eilat, the most isolated city in Israel. He has directed three documentary films: Stefan Braun tells the story of a legendary fur designer from Tel Aviv in the 50s and his secret love story with a young man. Four Years of Night is about a photographer that captured the intimate life of a violent Neo-Nazi gang in Paris. A short film called The Pomegranate Flower. He has also directed a video/stage project, Hidden Tenant. His films were screened in festivals, on TV channels, and won prizes around the world. Itamar wrote a drama-thriller called Sick Lake that was supported by Medienboard and the Israeli Film Fund and was chosen for the 24/7 Berlin residence, the Nipkow Program residence and Torino Film Lab. These days he is working on a second script called Central Station. The screenplay won the first prize at the International Film Greenhouse in Jerusalem and participated Berlinale Talents and Cinemart, and a third screenplay called Ticks with the support of the Israeli Film Fund. In 2022 Itamar released The camera of Doctor Morris Full length Documentary supported by ARTE That WON Best Israeli film award in Docaviv film festival. Also nominated to the Israeli oscar. and a short – Cold Water, On April Itamar is Filming a new short – Embrace.
